What Is It?

The Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe is a premium cruiser style bike. It's powered by an air-cooled 1,337 cc (82 cubic inches) V-Twin engine which puts out 67 bhp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque at 3,350 rpm.

Features include:

  • 292 mm disc up front with two piston caliper
  • 292 mm disc at the rear with two piston caliper
  • 38 mm Keihin carbs

  • 2->2 exhaust system
  • 5 speed gearbox

The wire-spoked 16" wheels take a Dunlop D402 MT90 white walled tyre at the front and a MU85 at the rear.

Model History & Updates

  • 2005: Official "Softail Deluxe" name, 1,449 cc (88 cubic inches) engine, 67 bhp at 5,200 rpm, maximum torque at 3,500 rpm, four piston calipers and 315 kg dry.
  • 2007: 1,584 cc (96 cubic inches) engine, fuel injection, 6 speed gearbox, 69 bhp at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque at 3,000 rpm.
  • 2012: 1,690 cc (103 cubic inches) engine, 75 bhp at 5,000 rpm, maximum torque at 3,250 rpm, analogue + LCD dash, gear position indicator, optional ABS, optional keyless security system and 329 kg wet.
  • 2017: Battery tender harness and standard ABS.
