What Is It?

The Harley-Davidson Road Glide is a touring focused cruiser and is powered by an air / oil cooled 1,690 cc V-Twin (103 cubic inches) engine which puts out 85 bhp at 5,010 rpm and maximum torque at just 3,500 rpm.

Features include:

  • Steel tubular frame and swingarm
  • Dual 300 mm discs up front with Brembo four piston calipers
  • 300 mm disc at the rear with Brembo four piston caliper
  • 49 mm fork with 117 mm travel
  • Air adjustable rear shock with 53 mm travel
  • Frame mounted shark-nose fairing
  • Quick release hard panniers
  • Daymaker LED headlights
  • Cruise control
  • 4.3" TFT dash + 4 analogue dials
  • Boom! Box sound system with 2 speakers
  • USB port + 12V socket
  • Highway bars
  • 2->1->2 exhaust system
  • 6 speed gearbox

The 10-spoke 19" front wheel takes a Dunlop D408 130/60 tyre and the rear 16" a 180/65.

Accessories include the linked ABS system, top box and alarm.

Did You Know?

Unlike the Street Glide the shark nose fairing is mounted to the frame. The Road Glide Special has the uprated BoomBox 6.5GT sound system with touch screen controls, GPS navigation, a special paintjob, an alarm system and the linked ABS system. The Ultra builds on the Special with the topbox and pillion chair.

Model History & Updates

2016: New linked Brembo brakes and ABS system.

2017: 1,745 cc (107 cubic inches) engine, 85.5 bhp at 5,450 rpm, peak torque at 3,250 rpm, Showa SDBV fork with 98 mm travel and 15% more adjustable rear shocks.

2020: 1,868 cc (114 cubic inches) engine, 90 bhp at 4,500 rpm and maximum torque at 3,500 rpm.

2022: Special now has a high performance air cleaner with a washable filter.
