What Is It?

The Artisan EV2000R is a learner friendly retro styled scooter and is powered by a an electric hub motor which puts out 2.7 bhp.

Features include:

• Disc up front with two piston caliper

• 12" wheels
• LED lighting all round
• Centre and side stand
• Seat cover
• Alarm

There's a charging port under the seat but unfortunately no storage space if you opt for the second range extending 7 kg LG 20Ah Lithium battery. Luckily there is a lockable storage area at the back with a USB port that is perfect for the 4A charging cable, the rear luggage rack is standard and there is an optional front rack.

The batteries are removable for easy charging indoors from a standard UK socket and each one offers about 25 miles of range with a potential 50 miles total.

You have to manually swap the cable to the second battery when the first runs out of range but that's less of a problem if you start with two fully charged batteries, use one on the way to work and the other on the way back.

Accessories include the second battery (£400), white / black / brown vinyl seats, black / blue / brown / red leather seats (£120), front luggage rack (£70), screen (£100) and SHAD topbox (£75).

A Chinese company called AntTech actually make the Roman Holiday Vespa style scooter which is imported into the UK by Artisan. You get a three year warranty on the battery and a two year warranty on the bike.
