What Is It?

The BMW R1150GS Adventure is an off-road focused adventure style bike and is powered by an air / oil cooled 1,130 cc Boxer engine, producing 85 bhp at 6,750 rpm and maximum torque at 5,250 rpm. The engine is stressed member of the frame.

Features include:

• Steel tubular frame and Aluminium shaft drive
• Dual 320 mm discs up front with four piston calipers
• 276 mm disc at the rear with two piston caliper
• ABS with off mode
• 35 mm Telelever fork with 5 level pre-load adjustment and 210 mm travel
• Rear shock with 220 mm travel
• Electric starter
• 6 speed gearbox

Differences with the standard road focused model include taller suspension, a 33 mm higher seat, belly pan, larger front mud guard, taller screen, larger luggage rack, Enduro tyres, lower first gear, 30 litre tank and rugged engine bars. The 19" front wheel takes a 110/80 tyre and the rear 17" a 150/70.

Accessories include panniers, cylinder head covers, 30 litre fuel tank, Aluminium side and top case, headlight grill and fog lights.

Colours: Silver, black/yellow

The model is best known for helping Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman travel 19,000 miles around the world in the Long Way Round.
