What Is It?

The Honda XL1000V Varadero is a premium adventure style bike and is powered by a liquid cooled 996 cc V-Twin engine which puts out 94 bhp at 8,000 rpm and maximum torque at 6,000 rpm. It's a detuned version of the VTR1000F Firestorm engine.

Features include:

• Steel frame with Aluminium swingarm
• Dual 296 mm discs up front with Nissin three piston calipers
• 256 mm disc at the rear with Nissin three piston caliper
• Combined braking system
• 43 mm fork with 155 mm travel
• Adjustable rear shock with 145 mm travel
• Dual analogue clocks
• Engine guard
• Luggage rack
• Side radiators
• 2->2 exhaust system
• 5 speed gearbox

The 3-spoke 19" front wheel takes a 110/80 tyre and the rear 17" a 150/70.

Accessories include the top box, panniers, heated grips, engine bars and centre stand.

Varadero is a 13 mile long peninsula in Cuba with plenty of hotels, bars, clubs, beaches and a golf course.

Model History & Updates

2003: New fairing, 6 speed gearbox, fuel injection, new suspension, new analogue / LCD dash with fuel gauge and optional ABS. 235 kg dry and 838 mm seat height.
