Cons

  • Some vibration
  • Oil leaks

What Is It?

The Triumph T140 is a standard naked bike and is powered by an air-cooled 744 cc parallel twin engine, producing 49 bhp at 6,200 rpm. It's starting to look quite investible now.

Features include:

  • Steel tubular frame
  • Disc brake up front
  • Drum brake at the rear
  • Standard fork
  • Dual rear shocks

Compared to the T120 the gearbox is now a five speed design, up from four and power is up 3 bhp from a 95 cc larger engine.

The T140 was produced by Triumph Engineering until bankruptcy in 1983 then by Les Harris / Racing Spares between 1985 and 1988.

Model History & Updates

1975: 254 mm rear disc brake.

1979: Electric starter.

1982: Dual 254 mm front disc brakes.
