What Is It?

The Triumph Rocket III is a popular cruiser style bike and is powered by a liquid cooled 2,294 cc triple engine, producing 146 bhp at 5,750 rpm and maximum torque at just 2,750 rpm.

Features include:

• Steel tubular frame and shaft final drive
• Dual 320 mm discs up front with Nissin four piston calipers
• 316 mm disc at the rear with Brembo two piston caliper
• ABS system
• 43 mm Kayaba upside down fork with 120 mm travel
• Dual Kayaba shocks with pre-load adjustment and 105 mm travel
• Counter-balanced crank shaft to stabilise the bike
• 3->1->2 exhaust system
• 5 speed gearbox with gear position indicator

The Rocket III's claim to fame is having the largest production bike engine and the cylinders are arranged front to back to produce a thin engine which fits between your legs, despite being more powerful than most cars.

Other features include an easy to remove pillion pad, so you can keep it looking good when out solo. Early bikes were electronically limited to 125 mph but can be flashed to unleash the full potential of the engine.

The 5-spoke 17" front wheel takes a 150/80 tyre and the rear 16" a 240/60.

Accessories include Chrome engine dresser bars, colour coded panniers, fog lamps, multiple screen options, footboards and plenty of Chrome bling.

The original Rocket III ran from 2004-2009, with a blacked out engine from 2005 to give it a more powerful demeanour. The Rocket "Classic" 2006-2009 model only differs in that it has more relaxed bars and floorboards. They merged into the Roadster in 2010 with a new exhaust.

Model History & Updates

2010-2012: Tourer special edition with leather panniers, pillion backrest and tall screen. The very different Rocket III Touring model was designed to appeal to the US cruiser / Harley market.

2015: Rocket X limited edition to celebrate 10 years of being the largest capacity motorbike. It's limited to 500 units with numbered side panels, a special ground high gloss finish from 8-Ball and black flyscreen. To make it stand out the handlebar, mirrors, exhaust and wheels have been blacked out.

2019: Limited edition new TFC model introduced with a new engine, more power, less weight and all the modern equipment you would expect for £25,000.
