What Is It?

The Yamaha GTS1000 is a premium sports touring bike. It's powered by a liquid cooled 1,002 cc inline four engine which puts out 99.8 bhp at 9,000 rpm and maximum torque at 6,500 rpm. It's a detuned version of the FZR1000 engine.

Features include:

  • Aluminium frame and swingarm
  • 330 mm disc at the front with six piston caliper
  • 282 mm disc at the rear with two piston caliper
  • ABS system
  • Adjustable single-sided swingarm at the front with 116 mm travel
  • Adjustable rear shock with 130 mm travel
  • Triple analogue dash
  • Centre stand
  • Fuel injection
  • Lockable glovebox on the tank
  • 4->1 exhaust system
  • 5 speed gearbox

The 6-spoke 17" wheels take a 130/60 tyre at the front and a 170/60 at the rear.

Did You Know?

The unusual RADD forkless front suspension design attempts to separate the steering and suspension aspects of a traditional fork. The vertical strut handles steering while the horizontal strut and shock handle suspension. It is also one of the first bikes to feature a catalytic converter.
