What Is It?
The Yamaha XVS650 DragStar is an A2 compliant mid-range cruiser and is powered by an air-cooled 649 cc V-Twin four stroke engine which puts out 40 bhp at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque at just 3,000 rpm.
Features include:
- Shaft final drive
- Steel tubular frame and swingarm
- Dual 298 mm discs up front with two piston calipers
- 200 mm drum brake at the rear
- Standard fork with 140 mm travel
- Adjustable rear monoshock with 86 mm travel
- Single analogue dash
- Mikuni 28 mm carbs
- 2->2 exhaust system
- 5 speed gearbox
The wire-spoked 19" front wheel takes a 130/90 tyre and the rear 15" a 170/80.
Accessories include the screen, leather panniers, footboards, crash bars and pillion backrest.
Colours: Black, white, silver, orange, purple, red
The classic version has swept back handlebars, longer bodywork, dual rear shocks, extra lights, footboards, a wider seat and a higher 708 mm seat height but it's around 15 kg heavier.
Did You Know?It uses a larger capacity version of the VX535 Virago engine and it's also known as the V-Star 650.
