What Is It?

The KTM 250 EXC is a motocross style off-road bike and is powered by a liquid cooled 249 cc single cylinder two stroke engine which puts out 17 bhp at 9,000 rpm.

Features include:

  • Steel tubular frame with Aluminium swingarm
  • Adjustable 43 mm WP upside down fork with 300 mm travel
  • Adjustable WP rear piggyback shock with 335 mm travel
  • 260 mm wavy disc up front with two piston caliper
  • 220 mm disc at the rear with single piston caliper
  • Keihin PWK 36 S AG carb
  • Magura clutch
  • Electric and kick starter
  • Split radiator
  • LCD dash
  • 5 speed gearbox
  • 1->1 exhaust system

The wire-spoked 21" front wheel takes a MAXXIS knobbly 90/90 tyre and the rear 18" a 140/80.

Accessories include the Akrapovic slip-on exhaust, brake disc guard, performance handlebars, performance wheels, LED headlight, high seat and low seat.

Model History & Updates

2002: New 248 cc engine, Keihin PWK 38 AG carb, small power boost, 9.5 litre fuel tank, 48 mm fork and 108 kg dry

2011: 6 speed gearbox and 103 kg dry.

2012: Improved performance, new air box, new frame, lighter swingarm, WP 4CS fork, WP PDS shock, 960 mm seat height and 104 kg dry.

2013: Damped Diaphragm Steel (DDS) clutch and 102 kg dry.

2016: New Euro 4 compliant engine, TVC power valve, clear fuel tank and WP Xplor fork.

2018: Electric start only, Transfer Port Injection (TPI) fuel injection, 9 litre fuel tank and +2.5 kg.

2020: New frame, lighter subframe, improved fuel injection, new exhaust, two ride modes and 103 kg dry.
