What Is It?

The Yamaha Tricity 125 is a learner friendly three-wheeled scooter and is powered by a newly designed liquid cooled 124.8 cc single cylinder four stroke engine, producing 10.9 bhp at 9,000 rpm and maximum torque at 5,500 rpm.

Features include:

  • Automatic CVT gearbox with belt drive
  • Dual 220 mm discs up front (one per wheel)
  • 230 mm disc at the back
  • Dual front forks with 90 mm travel
  • Unified braking system
  • Bag hook, LCD dashboard
  • LED taillight and position lights up front
  • Centre stand, side stand

Like other three wheeled scooters the front wheels lean when cornering but unlike others Yamaha has emphasised lightness and agility with the Tricity. Each wheel connects to its own fork, with one leg handling suspension and the other support. They are quite close together as well, specifically to keep everything narrow for filtering, although that does mean it can't be ridden with your car license like the larger capacity Piaggio MP3 models.

The unified braking system lets you apply balanced braking force front and rear using input from both levers; it basically helps to prevent the wheels locking up. The right lever operates only the front brake and left all three.

Underseat storage is large enough for a full face helmet but there are no cubby holes or a glove box. The front 6-spoke 14" wheels take 90/80 tyres and the rear 12" a 110/90.

Accessories include a comfort seat (£202), tall screen (£146), smoked sport screen (£57), rear carrier (£81), 39 litre top box (£118) and hand guards (£57).

Colours: Black, grey, white, red
